The Gala Water Camera Club was begun as a social and discussion group in Heriot Village for local people who were interested in the use of Cameras and Photography. This has now expanded to cover video, the digital issues around software, printing and other related matters as well.
In 2013 this group was formalised into the present club, and the Membership was extended down the Gala Water Valley. The club has grown in numbers so that a larger venue for meeting was needed.
This year the club meets in Stow at the Cloud House café, whose help is gratefully acknowledged.

Good morning,
My name is Kevin Wilson and I am currently Acting Headteacher at Stow Primary School for the next 2 years. Really impressed with what I am seeing within the school and links with the community.
Prior to my appointment I tried to research some information about the school. However, it became clear to me that the Primary School does not have a school website. I am therefore working with some parents this term to create a website for the school. A website is one of the first things any new staff or potential families thinking of moving to Stow would look for in order to find out more information, and so we are aiming to produce a high quality, professional looking website.
With this in mind, we discussed the importance of displaying quality photographs of our school, staff and learning. However, as far as I am aware we do not have the skillset or technology within our staff or parents in order to do this. The parents raised my attention to your photography club as a possible source of support.
Would you (or a member of your team) be willing to come into school to take photographs of our school, staff and children so that we can display on our website? In return we will state within the website how you have supported with this project- advertising your camera club.
